We have two 80 ft blue spruce in our backyard. I asked the arbourists to take the branches off of the bottom 6 1/2 feet. Two days ago, they did that. My son now has a place to play but we can see directly into our neighbour's house when we sit down. Is there any product that will encourage regrowth where limbs have been cut off? Is there any way to encourage branches to droop? Any ideas on how to fill the 1t gap between the top of our fence and the bottom of our trees?

The short answer is "no." New sprouts won't emerge off the trunk, nor off the bare part of what are now the lowest branches. However, the lowest branches will probably start to droop now that they are no longer supported by the ones underneath. If the gap is 1 foot, I'd anticipate that it will close.

Alternatives include to put a bit of lattice on top of the fence, with or without a little vine growing up it.
