My husband and I bought a few houseplants in March that are good for low light spaces. One of the plants that we bought was a peace lily. In the 3 inches we have had the plant it has tripled in size. It is starting to look pretty out of control, like we live in the jungle. I know that to trim the tips of the leafs but I don't know how to trim or prune the plant back so that it regains a nice shape. I'm afraid that if I just start cutting the longer stalks off that I will hurt the plant. I've tried searching the internet but can only find how to trim the tips of the leafs.

Any advice on how to properly prune and shape a peace lily?

The taller leaves and/or leaves that maybe protrude out to the sides, can be cut back by cutting the stems all the way back flush as you can to the growing point of the mother plant until you get the desired look you want without harm.
