This plant has been in my garden since I moved in. I have no idea what it is... The only thing i can tell you is that it is deciduous. Any ideas?
Seems slightly different, but could certainly be same genus. The aqueous appearance, in the manner of sweet gale (Myrica gale) is curious and quite unlike the fresh green of that particular spiraea, which is a familiar native where I live.
There are a few other things that I can tell you about the plant: a. It does produce a very delicate white flower at the ends of each stem (very similar to some images of Spiraea douglasii that i've looked at on google). b. If seems to be quite vigorous. I dig a few new shoots out that appear a few inches away from the main clump every year. I have looked around my local garden centres for a while but I can never find anything like it... It's almost like a bamboo in its form but those leaves are nothing like a bamboo??? Maybe it's a new breed;-)
Just means it's another spiraea. There are about 80 wild species alone, with garden hybrids on top of that.
