Saw these yesterday. northern NM, southern Rocky Mtns. on edge of meadow of spruce forest, 10,500 ft asl growing from underneath what was very likely a spruce log. My best guess is T. rutilans. Anyone care confirm or deny?
Looks like there are veil fragments on some of the cap margins, and the buttons look like there's a veil involved. How about Hypholoma fasciculare . . . ? http://www.mushroomexpert.com/hypholoma_fasciculare.html Best wishes, Michael
