    Pine seedling, 2-3 years old. Too young to tell which species for certain yet, provisional guess Pinus virginiana.

    Looks more like Pitch Pine Pinus rigida here. Can you get a close-up of the foliage and a cone? There's a cone on a fairly low branch in your pic, ringed red below. Also count the number of needles per bundle (if Pitch Pine, I'm expecting 3, rather than 2).
