I have several of these small tress growing in my backyard (Victoria, BC). They have been dropping a lot of blue berries on the ground. I have attached a pic of the berry and the leaves. The tree itself is about 6-7 feet tall with small trunk and grayish green bark. I have two small children, so am concerned they might be poisonous. Thanks for any help you can provide.

This appears to be a Saskatoon Berry, AKA Serviceberry, June Berry, etc. (Amelanchier alnifola).

Doesn't look like Amelanchier to me, the leaves are too coarsely serrated. Also ('Juneberry'!!) they ripen in June, not September ;-)

What it is, not sure - can you get some more pics, showing the berries attached to the shoots, please?
