Tree too close to house - options ?

Discussion in 'HortForum' started by Unregistered, May 29, 2005.

  1. I have a tree which was planted too close to the house, and its roots may be
beginning to lift the concrete walk. I do want to keep the tree so I'd like to know
what options are available and who I should consult with.

    Thanks

    Hi YHC,

Well, there are really two options in this case, assuming you want to keep the tree: you can either remove the walk (probably the best option for the tree), or you can keep the walk there, as long as you don't mind the buckle in you pathway.

Some trees will do better than others with compacted roots. What type of tree is yours? This information could help determine what sort of action you should take.

    Good luck!
