This is such an unusual leaf that it should be easy to identify but I'm stumped. Help is appreciated.
Heptacodium - a robust shrub probably related to Abelia. UBCBG Lam Asian Garden may have one of the earlier plantings in the region. Down here these are fruiting comparatively well this year, likely due to it having been a rather warm summer.
