    Hi all,

I want to grow about 100 seedlings and plant them later on in the summer. These would be various native to Ontario tree seedlings or babies. Where can I buy them in or around the G.T.A.? Or should I just grow them from seed? Any links to where to purchase or any ideas would be much appreciated.
    Cheers!

Which ever way you decide I would let them grow for a couple of years in pots before planting out. I have a miny wood around the edge of my five acres and have chosen to use a mix of natives (Aust.) and northern hemisphere. They are usually a foot or so high and I also give them a plastic protection thingy. Not sure what they are called but looks like a firm plastic bag and is held securley by small bamboo sticks. Large plastic milk bottles and cartons also work well. This protects them from the wind and collects a bit of natural moisture. Given our dry climate I use mulch and water retaining crystals as well to keep them damp. I plant late autumn but this is not necissarily the correct time for you. My reasons are the need for rain and cool weather so they don't dry out.
