Tree Mushroom ID Required

    Hi...

    You can see some of these while going up the Whistler/Blackcomb gondola, but these are on Elk Mountain in Chilliwack...

    Any idea what they are???

    That's what remains of fir cones after the scales drop off.

    Hmmmmm... could be, but I don't see any hanging downwards... Surely probabilty says that some would be pointing in other directions...

    Plus, they're all the same... Surely, some would be in various stages of "dropping off" ???

    Upright cones that lose their scales are a charateristic of true firs (genus Abies) and true cedars (genus Cedrus)
