I bought this small potted plant from IKEA because it looked good. Ikea did not identify this plant. I looked in my plant books and online and could not find out what it is.

The plant does not have any regular leaves - they are more like scales or buds. Please see attached photos.

1>> does anyone know what the name is for this plant?

2>> does anyone know how to take care of this plant?

    Thanks for your help!!!

Might be Cupressus macrocarpa, Monterey Cypress.

Ditto to Monterey Cypress Cupressus macrocarpa, probably the cultivar 'Goldcrest'. In Lebanon, plant outside in a fairly cool, moist location. Note that it is capable of becoming a large tree (20-30 metres tall eventually) but is disease-prone in hot dry climates.
