Tree IDs with grey smooth bark

    The tree is found in Modesto located in Californian Central Valley. It is about 12 feet tall, has very smooth grey bark and leaves are oval, dark green and thick. Looks like evergreen tree.

    Probably Acca sellowiana.

    Probably not? Acca sellowiana doesn't have smooth gray bark and the leaves are a little hairy especially on underside. Also the flowers are rather big. Maybe some Ilex trees?

    Probably too many flower buds, too. When you click to enlarge the older leaves do look holly-like.
