The first pic does indeed appear to be a cherry, but an ornamental flowering one. You will not get fruit from that tree. Don't know the second one, looks kind of like a London plane tree--perhaps some kind of Platanus.

I would guess Alder (Alnus) on the second one.

#1 is Prunus 'Kanzan', a sterile double-flowered cultivar
#2 is a hawthorn or related tree, with a fruit infected by Juniper-Hawthorn rust disease (Gymnosporangium)

thank you for your quick replies.. i was hoping the cherry tree would give me cherries,,, what a tease! ha ha..

the 2nd tree, i looked at photo's of the hawthorn...the flower in the spring was simular, but the leaves are more maple tree like..not like the leaves i see in the photo's online... i am thinking it is a sycamore tree... would that make sense?

    thanks christine

Agree with hawthorn for the second. Many, many species of hawthorn, depending on the reference you use.
