Hi all! I've got a friend who is trying to identify this tree. Can anyone help?

A bit too blurred to tell for certain, but looks most like a crabapple.

Took a tree ID class as a repeat last autumn for CEUs. Every time we passed a certain crabapple tree on the campus, I loaded up my vest pockets and snacked on them as we toured the grounds reviewing other trees.
