I have a bunch of twigs and small branches to identify, which are known to be a mix of birch and apple. They have a remarkably uniform appearance at a glance (none of the characteristic bark found on the more mature parts of the trees, and no foliage), and I am hoping somebody can provide small details I can use to tell them apart. Many thanks for reading, and any assistance is greatly appreciated!
Can you post photos? In the meantime here is a twig identification key, and here's a site with botanical term definitions. http://biology.burke.washington.edu/herbarium/imagecollection.php?Page=wintertwigkey.php http://botanydictionary.org/entries/index.php
