    Hello all,

I recently made a trip to the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota and brought back some photographs to illustrate from. Now that I'm back, I can't identify the tree(s) I'd like to draw! Please see attached file for the trees in question. My uneducated guess is that both the seedling and the stump are Balsam Firs, but I could be WAY off! Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    I'd agree with your identification.
