(Not sure this is the right place to post this - apologies if it's wrong)

I need help identifying a tree growing in my yard in Accra, Ghana (West Africa). It looks like a willow or a eucalyptus - neither of which is indigenous to Africa.
    - Neither the leaves, stems nor bark have any obvious odor like many eucalyptus.
    - The seed pod is flat and spiral/corkscrew shaped
    - The mature leaves are 15cm-20cm in length, scimitar shaped and smooth edged

    I am attaching 5 photos:
    1 close-up of the trunk
2 close-up of a branch with seed pod and flower (and ruler for comparison)
    3 close-up of the flower
4 close-up of the seed pod
    5 the entire tree

Any and all help would be appreciated.
    Greg

    Thanks, Ron.

An Acacia? That's one I hadn't thought of. I'll have to do a little more digging along those lines.

Looks like it might be Acacia maidenii, based on the pictures I could find on the web. The principal difference seems to be that the leaves on my specimen are definitely curved (sickle or scimitar shaped), but the flower and seed pod are quite similar.
