tree ID for a friend

    A coworker friend asked if I might be able to ID this piece of a tree from his yard. It has leaves like long holly leaves, and there's a mutant twin-leaf on it, of which I took a few closeups.

    I think that's it, David. That's probably why he wanted to know - to see if the nuts are edible. Thanks very much.

    Edit: He hasn't seen any nuts yet, but he mentioned long flower clusters, which we looked up, and they were a perfect match. Maybe they'll create something useful this year. Thanks again!
