I have found large white "plates" growing from a downed tree...It took quite a lot of strenght to pull loose one of these growths. They ranged in size from about 12" in diameter to smaller ones of about 4 inches in diameter...The back of these growths look a lot like coral... I would like to have help finding the scientific name of this type of growth.
is it possible to post a picture? I can only imagine so have some kind of Polypore, but that doesn't narrow down what you have by much.
