    Is this a picture of a wild fig tree? It was taken in the Kruger NP in South Africa.

    Seems very likely though other trees/vines can have aerial roots.
    Ficus albitifolia ... Common name: Large-leaved rock fig
    Ficus natalensis ... Common name: Common wild fig
    Ficus stuhlmannii ... Common name: Lowveld fig
    Ficus sycomorus ... Common name: Sycamore fig
    Ficus verruculosa ... Common name: Water fig
