    Hi

I have this palm/tree in my garden and would like to positively identify so that i can properly feed it. It has been noticeably deteriorating over the last couple of years. I am under the impression that it is a Travellers Palm (Ravenala madagascariensis) however am not quite sure as i have never seen any flowering whatsoever on it. All the info i have found say that it has a very distinctive flower.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The symptoms it is showing is yellowing and splitting of the leaves. At first i thought it may have been the seasons, but it has shown no improvement summer through winter and back to summer.

Please let me know if the photos are insufficient.
    Thanks again =)
    Russ

Agree with Traveller's Tree Ravenala madagascariensis, which b.t.w., is not a palm, being more related to bananas and similar plants.

Yours look OK to me; the browning is confined to the older leaves which one would expect to die off with age. The splitting is due to wind tearing the leaves; nothing you can do about it, but equally, it happens in nature, and the species is adapted to survive it without harm.

    I'd suggest a lawn fertiliser.

Balanced fertilizer, something like 10-10-10, basically what one would use to keep a banana healthy.
