I would like to transplant my asters, but i am usure how, can i have a step by step guide please? i want to know how to move them safely without killing them. They are between half a foot and a foot in a half tall. I have about eight of them. Thank you!
Since they are up pretty high move as unbroken clumps (sods). If it was earlier in the season and they were still short you could pull them apart. I am assuming you are talking about perennial asters. If these are instead annual asters (Callistephus) you would be best to leave them where they are. If there is some reason why they must be moved them you will just have to try and dig and move each with intact, unbroken rootballs - and settle for whatever results occur afterward. Be sure to water liberally afterward.
