I planted a heptacodium miconioides (7 sun flower) 4 years ago. It is doing very well where it is. I have pruned it only slightly. It is too tall for the space. Instead of pruning it drastically I thought I would transplant it where it can grow at will with only minor pruning. I have a large piece of property so finding a spot is no problem. My concern is, can this plant be transplanted easily and if so when? Should I prune it drastically when I dig it out? Or should I leave it where it is and keep it pruned to a smaller bush? Right now it is 10 ft. high and about 5 ft. wide.
