Hello, I am new to this forum, and since I don't have a lot of gardening experience I need some help. I just dug up a small pear tree (about 4') that I think was growing off one of the roots of the main tree. There is a very tiny amount of this rootstock on this cutting (evidently the main nourishment was coming from that large root), and I would love to be able to nurse this then plant it in my yard. I would like to know, first, whether this will be possible; second, whether I should put it in a bucket to try to get more roots growing, third, whether I should use muddy water or clean, fourth, what type of fertilizer I should add (if any), and finally, whether I should prune some of the roots and leaves, and if so how much should I prune. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give.
