+transplanting old japanese yews

    I'm going to dig and move some 80 yr p[lus japanese yews, does anyone have good experience about how much I can bare root them in july?

    I found some links that may help you, but if you don't need to move them, the best possible way to keep them alive is to leave them as they are.

    Most of the rest of what I found had no application whatsoever or did not apply in your case. So if you really must move them, make sure you get as many of the roots as you possibly can to move with them and try to limit their exposure to sun and air with tarps or landscaping fabric/plastic. This will ease the strain on them and increase their chances of survival.
