I have a japanese snowbell in front of an office window (east exposure, morning sun) and have discovered it can grow to 25' wide/tall. This is not a good place for it. I have a lace leaf maple on a slope that is getting too much sun (west early and late afternoon) and I think would do well in front of the office so I want to switch places. I don't know much about gardening and was wondering when is the best time to do this?

Transplant right after leaves drop in fall. If the styrax does well it could grow twice that height, although this will probably take decades.
