We bought some property in Vestaburg Michigan about 3 years ago. There are some old grape vines planted there. We would like to transplant the vines and build an arbor for them to vine on. Could you tell us the best time of year to move them & how to prune them back without killing them? We don't really know alot about them, so any advise would be greatly appreciated!
While dormant is a good time, which for most of us is right now. In the top dark green bar of the forum page under "Search" type in "transplant grape" and read thru the other posts. Prune heavily and don't allow them to fruit this year. Ralph
