Transplanting elephant's ear plants

These plants are 6ft 2 meters tall. Worried about what their roots system is like...

 

Probably a lot smaller than you fear - they're not like trees where the root system is generally wider than the plant is tall. If you transplant in winter, most of the root system will die back to the corm, too.
