Hello, Can anyone recommend trailing foliage plants(or flowers) for a container that faces East? Last year I planted sweet potato vines but nothing hasn't come out yet. It must have suffered more during winter. Thanks in advance. FM from Vancouver, BC ------------------------------------- Form is formless. Formlessness is form.
No, those wouldn't live through the winter outdoors in a pot here. If you want something that will consistently live through the winter in a hanging basket or window box it will have to be pretty hardy, maybe a trailing conifer like a prostrate juniper or something like this: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/research/industry/arctostaphylos_vancouver_jade.php
Thanks again Ron for responding my queries. I found a photo of Vancouver Jade at http://www.hort.net/gallery/view/eri/arcuuvj/ . It is so pretty and I will visit local nurseries to see if they have one.
