Traffic Circle Plant

    Attached is an overall view and leaf detail of a plant in our traffic circle that we are trying to identify so we know what to expect for size and what do with it. Maybe a CA native.

    The second picture looks like a sunflower...
    There's supposed to be a California version of helianthus debilis.

    Thanks Stone. I think that is probably it, and likely the Florida kind of Beach Sunflower and not one of the California types from looking at pictures on-line.

    Now that the first blooms have come out in our drought stricken early Spring, I can see that this plant is a Bush Sunflower (Encelia californica) native to southern California. Maybe a little too fragile for the San Francisco area, but will see if I can keep it trimmed for more color.
