    Hi,

I am hoping that I can gain some advice or be pointed in the right direction. I have a row of cedar hedges that were likely planted when the house was built @ 30 years ago. The row was uneven with 1/3 of them about 15 feet and the rest larger with 6 of them 25 + feet in height. I guess I should call them trees. I decided to make them the similar height, aiming for 15 feet across but wonder if this is too barbaric taking about 10-15 feet off of the remaining 3. I am in the Guilford area and perhaps should consider a professional. I am also thinking of removing all, grinding the stumps and starting again with new hedges...

    Thanks,
    DC

Yes, if you take that much off you may end up with stumps that have branches out the sides but cannot re-cover the tops. At least not with any speed and evenness.
