too warm here for Sutherland Gold Elder?

    I see that this yellow elder has a rating of zone 3 or 4...does that mean it would not be happy on Vancouver Island?
    If it is ok here, is it easily available...?

    Hardiness zone ratings that low indicate it is hardy to colder climates than there, heat tolerance is indicated using heat zones. You should not have a problem with it there, given a moist soil and perhaps a little summer shade.
