I find myself in a bit of a pickle. I purchased some Acer monspessulanum
Montpellier Maple seeds earlier this year and have had them in the fridge stratifying ever since. I just checked them, and they have all started to germinate.

Doh, I was hoping that they would have done this like 3 months ago so I could have planted them directly outdoors. Now I am left with a choice of planting them outside knowing that the summer is over and fall is a couple of weeks away, or planting them in pots and keeping them under lights until next spring. Neither option makes me feel certain that they will thrive. On one hand they will barely be able to become seedlings before winter is upon me, and the other they would have to grow for at least 14 months before there first dormancy.

I have considered getting them started outdoors in pots and them bring them indoors under lights followed by some fridge time and then back out next spring.

    What would you do?

I started some pseudoplatanus Leopoldii in mid-Sept in little pots and brought them
in under a grow light etc. which was a bit of a pain and they were fine.
I would agree with you bringing them in but looking back I don't think you need the
light rather put them near a natural sunlight source like a window and let them
acclimatize to the Fall/Winter light cycle.
    Good luck.
