A few weeks ago I planted some cherry tomatoes and in the last few days two of the plants have had the leaves turn yellow at the very top and they seem to be dying (just the leaves). There are no noticeable insects and I have only fertilized them once. Can anyone help indentify the problem and suggest a cure? Thanks.

Something like this happened to me last year. I took a couple of the diseased leaves to the local garden centre and was told, that I was dealing with a virus, I should pull out the plants and burn them, if possible and that I could never plant tomatoes in this plot again.

To alleviate the loss, I bought a few patio tomatoes and planted them in pots. Before I pulled out the other plants though I googled and found the different advise, that it was possible to safe some of the harvest, by snipping off the diseased leaves. I did that diligently and had no recurrence and a pretty fair harvest.

Before I wrote this post, I tried to find this advise again, but couldn't. Sorry! :(
Good luck, I hope, this is not too late for you,
    Olaf
PS: In my case the leaves were a very bright yellow almost identical to the colour of the blossoms.

Thanks for your advice. That sounds correct because it has happened to two of three plants in the same area but not to others planted in different plots or pots.
