I am going to go with the plane ol this year... roma and big boy last year I did cherry and beaf steak tomatoes, you have a good tomato slection there thanks.
Durgan that is an interesting selection of tomatoes. How may of each are you going to grow? TheTomato Varieties seeds that I bought this year are: - Sub-Artic Plenty - Manitoba - Yellow Pearshaped - Amish Paste - Ildi - Sun Sugar I have these left over from last year, which I will also grow. -Mama Mia -Big Beef -Fantastic -sweetie (cherry) -Speckled Roman ?? There are hundreds of more varieties I would like to try. Maybe one day, I will have tried them all. :)
Two plants of each tomato type will be grown. Of your list Manitoba, Fantastic, and Big Beef have been grown with success. Manitoba is most prolific and almost crowded with s bush-like structure. The fruit is sort of hard and palm sized but more than acceptable. Over the last few years my favorites are the dark types. Often they are early and all my associates like the taste. I usually buy one or two Lemon Boy plants, since the fruit is perfect in shape.
I had intended to try a dark variety this year, but I just ended up with too many other varieties, so maybe next year. :)
