Rucker, I'm not sure as its hard to tell from the picture but the ground deos look very dry. Have you been watering them enough, they do need a daily drenching also from the size of them a regular feed with Tomato food something like Tomerite. Once they have fruited don't over do it though as some Red varieties of tomatoes tend to split. The only time I have had problems with mine where a plant has browned off and died is when a Vine Weavil or mealy bug of some sort has killed the root. I keep the ground as moist as possible in our hot summers we get these days and also feed regularly. You may want to dig up a plant that is on its way out and check the ground for any white slug type bugs about a cm long and fattish. Once you have them they can be a pain to get rid of. The garden centre will reccomend some sort od systemic that should kill them off without affecting the vines or making the fruit inedible. Nath
