Our hawthorn lost a couple of leaders to this disease (a couple had started to leaf out and then died) I've pruned the dead branches off (see photos of one injured area); however, there are some of these brown, dead bark areas on the rest of the tree. Any ideas of the type/name of the disease? Any ideas on how to stop it from spreading (if that is what it is going to do). Thanks for the help.
