Just inherited a new garden and I'm not sure if these are vegetables or just a nasty weed. Thanks for your help.

Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Parsnips gone bolting (about to flower), Angelica, or something similar? Cows love them.

In any case, I don't think they're weeds. You could pull one of them up to see if it's a parsnip, though. If they've gone to seed, they won't be good eating, though.

And of course, depending on what your attitude is towards parsnips, they could indeed be a nasty weed.

Then it's Queen Anne's Lace or more likely, Angelica. They're all related; you can candy the flowers of both.

In any case, it's related to Celery. (Family Apiaceae)

I think it's a mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris, or a similar Artemisia sp.)
