    Greetings all!

I have a small acer palmatum "geisha" in a two gallon wooden box that I bought last year. Initially I believe that i overwatered it but tuned into the plants needs through the summer. Overwinter i heeled it into a bark bed with a couple of other plants and unearthed it about ten days agow when the buds were swelling.

The finger test told me that the plant was very moist and I set it aside in a moderately shadey place to aclimatize for a few days.

Our last weeks has changed from being April warm and sunny to being April cold and rainey and a bit more than half of the little geisha's flowers and emerging leaves have gone mushy (for lack of a more precise term). I have sequestered the plant from the wet and fear the worst.

Any advise on nursing the plant?

    David
