This one is growing under our lilac tree. It has tiny whitish/green flowers emerging now, and deep green leaves at least since August, when we acquired the garden. Any help appreciated!

This is a Spurge Laurel, aka Daphne Laurel or False Laurel (Daphne Laureola) It is considered a weed throughout British Columbia and also in Washington State.

thanks, will do! I am reading though that it is quite toxic, so I'll have to think about how, for a bit. Thank you again for your help.

Only poisonous if you eat it! Safe to grab a hold and pull it up.
