Hi, I have a monstera adansonii that I think has damage from a pest attack that might be thrips? Or is it something else? Could it be diseased? I found what I thought looked like thrips about 2 weeks ago so I've been giving it a bath every 4-5 days and spraying it with neem oil. Or is it a variegation mutation (I wish?) Thanks again in advance!
The ones I had were relatively big and easy to see, unlike spider mites. Thrips Management Guidelines--UC IPM
Oh, thanks for the link! That looks like a gold mine. I will check that out.. Do you happen to know anything about the mosaic virus? Aagh! This is stressing me out. Haha. Sorry, if I'm asking too many questions.
I checked for mites and webs but I found none. Maybe I'll have cut the damaged leaves and repot it. :(
Unless they really bother you I think it would be better to keep the affected leaves. Removing them would just reduce the plant's ability to photosynthesize.
Oh, thank you. I didn't think about that. I think I will just keep it as it is and let nature take its course. I don't really see any bugs so I'll just continue with giving it a shower once a week and maybe spray with neem oil. Thank you very much for the help. :)
