thorn tree

    I am new to thi site,so I hope I am doing this correctly.
    I have a big tree near my yardthat has thorns 3 to 4 inches long,and it is covered with little fruits,they look like limes,and they will turn yellow in the fall.does anyone know what this tree is ,and if the fruits on it are edible?Thank You.

    Edible, but realistically only when cooked, with lots of sugar (i.e., made into marmalade).
