thorn mottled leaf plant

Hi...this is growing up in several spots in my yard in tennessee...it starts out like a stalk with thorns...leaves are irregular heart shaped mottled cream on green...then becomes more of vine...cpl of neighbors think it might be rose??? but I never seen rose with mottled leaves...thanks in advance

Thanks so much for quick reply...I am someone who pretty much if it wants to grow...let it grow.... but I had dug a space and planted dozen forsythia and this showed up wants very badly to share the space...very determined so thought I should check it out...thanks
