thanks in advance for your help

the plant is now a houseplant that's put outside in the spring.

once a year, it forms 1 stalk when it's ready to bloom. the stalk forms in about 3 weeks and is about 18 inches long. it forms 4 or so blossoms that have a delicate frangrance, somewhat like vanilla.

after the blooms fade, they form seed pods abou the size of a kiwi and are light green.

    appreciate the help!

Looks like Hymenocallis (spider lily) to me. Check out this link to the Bulb Society.

    Thank you, Douglas.

I don't profess to know anything about plant classifications, but . . .

Found it at the URL you gave me. It's Hymenocallis senegambica. Cannot find what the common name for it is. Did a google search and came up empty handed.

Hymenocallis caribaea is the Spider Lily. Is the Hymenocallis senegambica also called a spider lily?

What a great site ya'll have here! We've wondered about this plant for 10 years now.... have just been calling it the 'Anguilla" plant

Thanks again, so much, for your help
