But why is it so leggy? Is it one that is ment to be hanging down or is it so mal-nourished it just can't stand up?

Does anyone have a clue what the fleshy, pointed leafed plant on the far right of the pic is?

It is a prayer plant .. it looks like it may need some fresh dirt and some good lighting .. it looks like it has been sitting in that pot for a long time ..
not sure what the other plant is .. but i would replant the prayer plant .. it should do alot better . they are genreally pretty easy plants to grow ..

This is not one of the rescue plants so no mealies. I gues what I'm asking is; should the stem be thicker to support the plant upright or is it a trailing variety? Leaves and stems look healty just whimpy. And yes, badly in need of repoting. barb

I didnt think it had bugs.. it probably just needed a repot and some good sun .. morning sun is the best for all plants .. and try some Schultz liquid plant food .. it works great .. the stems should get bigger and thicker in time ..

    good luck with it ..

Regarding the prayer plant, they get like that over the year. Mine usually sends up one or more new shoots in the winter, at which time (as soon as I notice them, before the new leaves have opened, so it's easy to see what I'm doing), I cut off all the old stems right at the ground. I don't think they need particularly good soil - I think mine has been in the same soil in the same 8" semi-spherical pot for over 25 years and it seems to get a bit fuller every year (not that I see that kind of neglect ever recommended). It just gets looking a bit leggy in the last few months of the year, which makes it easier to see the new shoots.
