Hello, I am a newbie to this site and found it in desperation to try and save my flowers. Like many of you my flowers are my stress relief. One of my pride and joys are my blackeyed susans. I was wondering why they had not bloomed yet, upon closer examination I can see that something has eaten the pedals of the flowers. I do see little bugs, they remind me of minature japanese bettles. Please help, I dont want to lose them. Thank you
Perhaps you could post a photo? Or, your local ag extension office or local garden centre might have some information on pests that are a problem for you locally. A pest control gardening book will also give you pictures of various pests so you can identify what you have. But having said that, handpicking the bugs and squishing, or a general insecticidal soap or insecticide will probably do the trick even if you don't know what you have.
