I forgot to mention 2 more STARS: Purple Ghost & Hoshi yadori Both of these I have had for 3 years at least and only this year have they looked just like the best pictures in the books so patience is a must in growing these maples because they have not read the books.
Katsura, Hoshi yadori is a real star for me too. Somehow the bugs have left it alone this year, also. ;) Here's another flop, too: A. campestre Miracle Spring. No miracle this spring, maybe next year... -E
