The leaves on the Japanese maple are down to their veins

  1. We just planted a Japanese maple about two months ago. It is about 4 feet tall. I just noticed that in some sections of the plant the leaves are down to their veins. So only the outer shell of the leaves and the veins that run through them are left. This is happening only in few sections of the tree. Can anyone tell me what is happening to my beautiful tree and what do I need to do to fix it?

    Thanks
