I was thinking readingthis maybe its because I try to shade the pond for the fish. But then I was told full sun would burn the garnet maple.
Its really in full HOT sun. But I put up the umbrella some for the fish to hide .
Guess I have a bad combo in one spot .I planted the garnet to help shade the pond in the future .But being a slow grower Im going to have to think of tree more sun and pond
something else .Ya think here in HOT sunny yorktown Va

Well, of course Bloodgood is very sun tolerant and grows fast as well. Its an upright. Tamukeyama is supposed to be an extremely heat tolerant dissectum, if that's what you're after. Then there are a number of green varieties that are very tough - Osakazuki, Omato, Ichigyoji, Hogyoku, etc.
