    Hello,

I am new to this site, and am in need of some information. As the title states, I am looking for information regarding where I can have some of my outdoor plants and soil examined for toxins/poisons.

Any information would be most helpful.

    cheers
    Harry

The first step is to identify the plants. Since different poisonous plants have all sorts of different poisons, there is no single test that can determine what the poison is.

If you think your soil is contaminated (and it is getting into your plants), there are private services that will test your soil for a fee. I don't know of any government offices or other agencies that do this here.

You can find these services in the phone directory or try a search for "soil testing" vancouver.

Sorry, actually what happened was, a neighbor of mine was caught spraying something toxic onto our Yew hedge and Vine Maple bush along a fence that we share... Originally my wife and I thought that the plant's wilting/dying condition was due to the heavy snow and freezing we were subjected to this past winter?, it doesnt snow/freeze here much, well not like this last one, but now it seems to be otherwise.
Anyhow, so now we are very concerned about the land that are underneith the plants, the possible ecological damage from the mysterious toxins in the soil?, if it gets into the water system?, but most importantly to the health and well being of my 1 year old child who loves to spend time touching and smelling the garden.

thank you "Eric La Fountaine", I will try that search.

    cheers
    Harry
